What is a referral program?
A referral program is a way for you to share your organisation’s opportunities with people you know and be rewarded for doing so.
What is a recognition program?
This is a way for organisations to recognise and reward their people for things they do other than making referrals. Think doing a great job, reaching a tenure milestone or “just because”.
What is Care Friends?
Care Friends is a mobile app that makes referring very easy. The app lists your organisation’s opportunities for you to share. You can also use it to keep track of the points you’ve earned.
Why am I asked to download the app?
Your organisation uses Care Friends to manage their referral and/or recognition program. You can use the app to share your organisation’s opportunities with your network, be notified of your referral’s progress and be rewarded along the way. You can also redeem your awarded points via the app.
How do I download the app?
You can access the app in one of three ways:
Via a text message from your organisation, which includes a special link.
By searching for Care Friends in your phone’s app store. This only works if you were pre-authorised by your organisation.
By scanning the QR code on the right or clicking on this link when viewing this page on your phone. This only works if you were pre-authorised by your organisation.
Will it cost me?
No. The Care Friends app is completely free to download and use. In fact, by using Care Friends you can earn points which you can choose to redeem for cash or another reward as set by your organisation.
What's in it for me?
You can earn points for making referrals or other activities. These points can be redeemed as per your organisation’s guidelines.
How many points do I get?
This depends on your organisation. Check out the listings in your app to see how many points you could earn for a referral or have a look under “settings” and then either “rules” or “points per stage“.
Why would I share a listing?
You know your organisation and what it’s all about. Because of this, you might know someone in your network who would be a great fit. By referring them, you help your organisation find the right people, you help your contact discover a new opportunity, and you may even be rewarded for doing so.
It’s what we call a win-win-win.
Who can I share listings with?
Pretty much anyone in your network, as long as they meet the requirements for being considered a referral and the basic requirements for the listing. For example, think who you might know from:
school/TAFE/Uni, previous jobs, your friends, your family, your church group, sports clubs/the gym, your neighbourhood, book clubs, your kids’ school, etc.
How do I share a listing?
It couldn’t be simpler to share a listing using Care Friends:
1. Share via the click of a button through WhatsApp, text message, Facebook Messenger, email or any other socials you have installed on your phone.
2. Copy the job link and share it in a local Facebook group (if allowed by your organisation) to reach even further.
What can I do with my points?
That depends on your organisation. Once you hit your minimum points to redeem, you can request to cash in your points via the app. Some organisations choose to have the points converted to dollars, others convert the points to gift cards, gifts or something else entirely. Check with your organisation what your points convert to.
I forgot my login details..
As an employee, all that is required to access the app is simply your phone number. Try your private number first and if that doesn’t work, try your work number. If that also doesn’t work, try your work email.

Can I delete my account?
Yes you can. Please follow this link with step-by-step instructions on deleting your account on the app.
Can I refer without a phone?
It is easiest to make referrals via the app on your mobile phone, but if you don’t have a mobile, you can still refer and be rewarded. Just let your organisation know of your referral and they will be able to add them manually. Make sure to talk to your referral first and collect their email address and phone number.
How secure is the app?
Very secure! Care Friends is built with the latest security protocols in mind.
