Care Friends Terms of Use and Privacy Notice

Please read these terms carefully before submitting your details or expressing interest through Care Friends.

These terms apply when you respond to an opportunity shared by a user of the Care Friends App (an App User). This may include expressing interest in:

  • a job or role
  • becoming a foster or kinship carer
  • becoming a volunteer
  • receiving a client service (such as home care)

By submitting your details or making an expression of interest (EoI) through the Care Friends platform, you are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.

If you do not agree to these terms, please do not submit your details.

About Care Friends

Care Friends provides a digital referral platform that allows organisations in sectors such as care, disability support, child and family services, and volunteering to share opportunities with their networks and for individuals to express interest in those opportunities.

Care Friends does not employ, engage, or provide services directly to individuals. Instead, we facilitate introductions between interested individuals and the Referring Organisation (the organisation that created the opportunity).

Your Expression of Interest

When you submit an Expression of Interest (EoI) through the Care Friends App, your information will be shared with the relevant Referring Organisation. This organisation may then contact you directly to discuss the opportunity or service.

Care Friends is not responsible for the subsequent process, decisions, or interactions between you and the Referring Organisation. Once your information has been passed on, the Referring Organisation becomes responsible for how it is handled and used.

All communication about the opportunity, application, or service should be directed to the Referring Organisation.

Personal Information and Privacy

When you submit your details, Care Friends collects certain personal information such as your name, contact details, and any other information you provide as part of your expression of interest.

Your personal information will be used for the purpose of:

  • Passing your details to the relevant Referring Organisation so they can contact you about the opportunity or service
  • Maintaining a record of your submission to ensure the system operates effectively

Care Friends will not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party other than the relevant Referring Organisation, unless required by law.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling all personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Your Responsibilities

By submitting an Expression of Interest, you confirm that:

  • The information you provide is true, accurate, and complete to the best of your knowledge
  • You understand that Care Friends is not the employer, agency, or service provider responsible for the opportunity
  • You consent to Care Friends sharing your details with the Referring Organisation for the purpose of connecting you about the opportunity or service

Liability

Care Friends provides the platform as a referral and connection tool only.
We make no guarantees that submitting an Expression of Interest will result in employment, engagement, volunteering, approval as a carer, or access to services.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Care Friends is not liable for:

  • Any decisions made by the Referring Organisation
  • The outcome of your application or enquiry
  • Any loss, damage, or inconvenience arising from your use of the Care Friends App or the transfer of your details

Updates to These Terms

Care Friends may update these Terms of Use and Privacy Notice from time to time. Any updated version will be published on our website and will take effect immediately upon posting.
